
Born in Padova in 1950, graduated in architecture in Venice,
Paolo Favaretto established his own design office, now Favaretto&Partners, in 1973.
Active as a designer and consultant for industry, he has co-operated with prestige
Italian and foreign companies, obtaining some important prizes and recognitions.
He is chairman of A.D.I. (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale:
Association for Industrial Design) NorthEast delegation, was the founder
and chairman of I.I.D.D. (Istituto Italiano Design Disabilità: Italian Institute
of Disability Design) and a member of the Board of Directors of E.I.D.D.
(European Institute for Design and Disability).
Furthermore, he was part of the scientific committee of the European project
I.D.I.A. (Inclusive Design and Intelligent Technology for Accessible Workplaces),
which promotes the study of the relationship between the workplace
and accessibility by the user.
He habitually writes for Italian furnishing magazines and holds lectures and lessons
at various design institutes, including IUAV University of Venice, the Italian School
of Design in Padova, the National College of Art and Design of Dublin, the University
Consortium for Company Organisation Studies (Italian acronym: CUOA) in Vicenza,
and the degree course in Industrial Design at the Milan Polytechnic.
Many of his works have been published in numerous design books, in the most
important Italian and foreign specialised magazines, and on web sites.
